The New Report Card
Dan Mella, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and Carrie Dassow, Superintendent for the Plymouth School District will present an explanation of the school report card which grades schools and districts on their achievement, growth in states test scores, achievement gaps, and college and career readiness. The question they will address is; "How well does the report card represent the problem with the skills gap in Wisconsin?" Mr. Mella and Dr. Dassow will address the relevancy of the report card to the indicators that are needed to close the skills gap. They will also present Mr. Mella's work with the Governor's Council on Workforce Investment and the recommendations to change the report card to incentivize schools to address the skills gap for students entering the workforce.
