Presenter, Ellen Brody, Great Lakes Regional coordinator at NOAA, Amy Wilson, director of tourism-City of Sheboygan; Chad Pelishek, director of planning and development; Leslie Kohler, chairman at SEAS.
Ellen Brody has worked for NOAA since 1987. In her current position as the Great Lakes Regional Coordinator for NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, she works with Great Lakes communities on new sanctuary nominations, coordinates programs for the national marine sanctuaries, and builds partnerships with other government agencies and organizations. Ellen works in Ann Arbor, MI at the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Lab.
From 1996-2004, Ellen served as NOAA’s lead for the designation of the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary in Lake Huron and then as Acting Manager.
Prior to coming to Michigan, Ellen spent nine years in Washington, D.C. in the national coastal zone management office, while focusing on the Great Lakes.
