Have you received a new credit card with the new EMV chip? This high-tech system is less prone to fraud and hacking, but how will it affect your small business? As of October 1, 2015, if your business has not obtained a new card reader and software to handle EMV chips MasterCard, Visa and American Express are no longer liable for fraud that may occur through a security breach within your credit card system.
The presentation will reveal
1. How did the EMV chip card evolve?
2. What is the difference between an EMV chip card and magnetic stripe card transaction?
3. Different terminal options.
4. How to plan for a successful transition.
Alicia Purpur has been with US Bank Payment Solutions for approximately two years. She is a graduate of UW-Green Bay with a B.A. in Public Administration and Political Science. She is currently and ambassador for "Current" the young professionals network for the Great Green Bay Chamber of Commerce.
