A 2 evening event to raise awareness and funds for the support of the Kiwanis iPad project Focus on Autism. The event is sponsored the Sheboygan Senior Community and the Kiwanis Club of Greater Sheboygan with supporting partner RCS Empowers, and hosted by the Stefanie H. Weill Center. Focus on Autism donates iPads and iTunes cards to local children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) for the purchase of apps designed to improve their communication. Event begins Wednesday, October 18 with a screening of the 1988 movie Rain Man, with an introduction by Dr. Darold Treffert; on set behavior consultant for Dustin Hoffman. The program for Thursday, October 19 includes keynote speaker Dr. Treffert, and presentations by the Treffert Center of Fond du Lac and the Kiwanis Club of Greater Sheboygan. Doors open 1 hour prior to both evenings' events for demonstrations of the apps used on iPads for ASD, Silent Auction table, and concessions.
