For a second year, The Étude Sessions will bring some warmth to uptown Sheboygan with a great jazz show! On Friday, February 17th The Tony Castañeda Latin Jazz Sextet will headline the evening at Paradigm Coffee and Music. The Tony Castañeda Latin Jazz Sextet was founded in Madison, WI in 1998 and has been entertaining audiences throughout the Midwest with their renditions of classic and original Latin Jazz ever since. Voted Madison’s Favorite Jazz Band fourteen straight years by the “Isthmus Reader’s Poll” (2000-2014), and recipient of three “Madison Area Music Awards” (2005-2007) as Madison’s best Latin Artist and best Latin Album (“Viva el Cardinal” and “Mambo O Muerte”) the Tony Castañeda Latin Jazz Sextet continues to impress and entertain audiences wherever they play. According to The Isthmus, Daily Page, “They bring a little bit of tangelo scented heat to Madison through their traditional blend of congas, keyboards, trumpet, flute, saxophone, upright bass, timbales, and myriad small hand percussion…their mambo was fiery hot, and their Tito Puente cover was dripping with lively sensuality. I can’t wait to be warmed by this band in the cooler months.” The Étude Sessions is the area’s only school-fundraising concert series, now in its fourth season. Tickets for the event combining Good Music + Good Cause are $20 General Admission / $10 Students. Tickets available online (etudegroup.org/etude-sessions) and at the door. Doors open at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm show. Attendees will be able to purchase from a full Paradigm menu and a selection of 8th Street Ale Haus beers at the event.
