Join us on November 9 at Pine Hills Country Club for an evening in support of Maywood. Enjoy a delectable meal, bid on unique silent auction items, and visit with fellow Maywood enthusiasts.
Then hear internationally-renowned conservationist Dr. Pete Marra discuss “Bird Conservation for the 21st Century.” Pete will take us on a journey to discover the unknown migrations of the birds of the Western Hemisphere and the causes of their declines.
Pete directs the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center in Washington D.C. He has published numerous papers on migration, climate change, and urban ecology. His recently published book “Cat Wars: The Devastating Consequences of a Cuddly Killer” discusses the impact of feral cats on bird and mammal populations.
Proceeds of the evening will support Maywood’s Nature-based Preschool. Scheduled to open in fall 2018, this outdoor-focused learning environment for four year-olds will be the first of its kind in Sheboygan County. Your support will help with start-up expenses for this unique opportunity in partnership with Camp Y-koda, the Sheboygan YMCA, and the Sheboygan Area School District.
