The Teal-Out is a 5k walk/run, and we will be throwing shades of teal powder at runners to "teal out the tolerance" of sexual assault. We will also be hosting a basket auction during the walk/run in order to raise money for this cause. You're invited to the fun! We will be selling shirts, bracelets and ribbons as well as the basket auction and accepting donations. All proceeds are going to the Safe Harbor Shelter for the Adopt-a-Room program in hopes of creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for the people and children who have to pass through the shelter. Sexual Assault is a serious issue and statistics show that one in five young women are assaulted during their college years . Our chapter wanted to create a fun and interesting event, but also an event that brings awareness to a serious issue. We also want to help raise money for a local domestic abuse and sexual assault shelter in Sheboygan, WI.
