If so, then join the team at the Kohler Stables working as the Assistant Trainer- Carriage Division.
As the Assistant Trainer for the Carriage Division, you will be responsible for:
Assisting with training the stable attendant associates.
Standing in as the Manager in their absence to address any personnel or associate concerns.
Assisting in the grooming and care of the Kohler Stables horse inventory to understand, appreciate, and identify horse potential.  This includes grooming, feeding, fitting for tack, hitching, coordination vet assistance as needed, and all other duties as assigned.
Assisting the Carriage Trainer with training of the horses, including halter breaking and conditioning colts and young stock.
Ensuring equipment and tack is in good repair, clean and in orderly condition.
Ensuring all horses are properly fed, exercised, and checked daily for unsound conditions.  Communicate veterinarian and farrier services needs for coordination.
Recommending when a horse is ready to sell, saleable price and marketable potential.
Responsibility for all sale stock at all times and their needs
Giving driving lessons as needed, Driving carriage for recreational purpose as needed.
Positively representing Kohler, Kohler Stables, and the brand at all times.
Demonstrating compassion and concern for the horses, and the Stables organization, at all times.
Willingness to work as part of a team, and take on additional duties as requested.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience working with horses
Confident driver, with prior experience handling Morgan horses is strongly recommended.
Demonstrated ability to effectively drive and manage a single carriage horse is required.
Must demonstrate a concern for and understanding of horses.
Ability to take direction, and eager to learn
Ability to work in a team focused environment
This is an exempt position, work hours would be approximately 50 hours per week, must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
