SUMMARY:COUNTDOWN 2 CONNECT - a Speed Networking Event
DESCRIPTION:What is Countdown 2 Connect? \n\n\n\nCountdown 2 Connect is a progressive Networking Breakfast that connects you with others who are also looking to grow their businesses through networking. Over the course of a three round rotation\, you will meet over twenty individuals who want to hear more about your business\, as well as share information about their business. Registration is required and limited to three professionals per industry\, one per company and fills up quickly. Please review the registration roster to avoid registering for an industry which may already have 3 people registered. (When registering through your member account log-in\, click on the program title - not the "Register Now" Button\, then click on the tab - "Who's Going?" to see which Companies/Industries have registered.)\n\nBANKING & FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS CATEGORIES ARE FULL\n\n\n\nAfter a Continental Breakfast\, you will be seated with a table of up to 9 individuals with the same goals in mind that you have - networking. This event is very non-compete conscious\; you will not be seated with any of your competition.\n\n\n\nEach round will begin with each participant at the table having three minutes to talk about who they are\, what their business does\, and answer a question (you will receive your questions in advance) asked by the table facilitator\, such as\, "What businesses would best compliment your business?" After everyone has shared information about their business\, a bell will ring and they will then move to the next table and repeat the process with new contacts. After the second round\, there will be a break for a light snack. As an added bonus\, open networking will take place before and after the event\, so be sure to bring plenty of business cards. By the end of the rotations\, you should have had quality time with about 25 individuals\, and open networking with many more. \n\n\n\nWho should attend Countdown 2 Connect?\n\n\n\nAnyone looking to build his or her business through networking is welcome to attend. We are expecting about 100 businesses. Registration is limited to three professionals per industry and one per company. Our organizers want to ensure that registrants gain the best experience and meet diverse businesses. Registering early will allow our team to coordinate a successful event for you! \n\n\n\nHow to Prepare \n\n\n\nSince this networking event is a little larger than what most people are used to\, there are a few things that attendees should take into consideration. Take a look at what we have outlined below and come prepared. \n\n\n\nBring Plenty of Business Cards \n\n\n\nSince you will be meeting at three different tables with around eight people at each table\, and there is networking before and after\, make sure to bring plenty of business cards. It's better to have too many than not enough! \n\n\n\nMarketing\n\n\n\nAfter your register\, don't forget to drop off a marketing item to the "promo bags" that will be handed out to each attendee. This is another great way to get your business name out there. We will be filling 100 bags. Please drop off your item to the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce no later than Wednesday\, October 13th. \n\n\n\nPractice Talking About Your Business\n\n\n\nSince you will have a few minutes to speak\, make sure to practice talking a little more than usual about your business. Work on your introduction. Plan to mention what sets you apart from others\; who is your ideal client\, etc. The goal of your short "commercial" is to encourage people to want to know more about you and your company. \n\n\n\nDon't Forget to Follow Up On Leads\n\n\n\nPeople have always said\, "The Fortune is in the Follow Up\," and this applies to networking. You will meet a lot of people\, all of whom are looking to build relations just like you. Also be on the lookout for people who may complement your business. They often share the same pool of clients who may need your services\, and these people can become valuable resources for referrals. Building relations will surely benefit your business\, but you will have to be proactive and follow up on your leads. \n\n\n\nSponsorships are available!
