Soft shoe is a relative to rhythm tap but without the need for tap shoes. Learn how to keep the beat to music. We will go through a series of tap exercises standing at the barre/chair and in the center floor. We will also explore an introduction to ballet toward the end of each class. No experience needed. Your little dancer will be "shuffling off to Buffalo" in no time at all. FREE\, Registration is required. Instructor: Katie Brennan. Katie Brennan\, a Manitowoc native\, began her dance studies under Jean Wolfmeyer at the age of 8. She engaged in rigorous studies of all genres of technique with Milwaukee Ballet\, Boston Ballet\, Joffrey Ballet\, and at the Virginia School of the Arts in Lynchburg during high school. When Brennan returned to Wisconsin\, she enrolled in the dance program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee\, where she graduated with a BFA in dance. She taught dance in the Milwaukee school systems before returning to Manitowoc\, where she currently teaches creative movement at the Jean Wolfmeyer School of Dance. Brennan also teaches all styles of dance at tude Elementary in the Sheboygan Area School District. She looks forward to sharing her dance knowledge and enthusiasm while enriching young students' lives through the world of dance.
