Salary Expectation:

Lakeshore Technical College – Cleveland, Wisconsin

Position Overview:

Responsible for the coordination of Industry 4.0 Mobile Lab activities to include scheduling, training, outreach, and promotion of mobile lab activities to the community, high schools, and employers.  Provide instruction in the Electro Mech program with an emphasis on meeting the needs of the local workforce in the high demand area of Electro Mechanical/Industry 4.0 to include Robotics and Automation instruction.  

Job Responsibilities:

Mobile Lab Job Responsibilities: 

  • Provide community outreach education in advanced manufacturing concepts including Hydraulics and Pneumatics, AC/DC electricity, precision measuring, and PLC’s.
  • Assist with major and minor equipment and material procurement process.
  • Maintain Mobile Lab ensuring regular vehicle maintenance.
  • Submit work orders to facilities for lab and equipment repairs.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization is maintained in mobile lab, and the classrooms. 
  • Work effectively with outside vendors.
  • Maintain lab equipment and consumable inventories. 
  • Administer and deliver industry certifications to students.
  • Track student data for grant reporting.
  • Develop relationships with companies in LTC’s district and beyond.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high school instructors to establish dual credit opportunities as well as recruitment activities. 
  • Ensure the safety of students in potentially hazardous work environments through safe working practices and proper use of equipment.
  • Participate in college outreach activities, both on and off campus.
  • Work effectively in a team-based environment.

Instructional Responsibilities:

  • Provide 120 hours of instruction in the Electro Mechanical program area per year.
  • Instruction hours may be in Business and Industry including Seminars and Contract training or in the Electro Mech program or a combination of both.
  • Meet with Business and Industry to scope training desired, if needed.

Education, Experience and/or Certificates, License, Registration:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and education and training preparing the individual for the occupational area being taught and a minimum of two years (4000 hours) recent related occupational experience OR Journeyworker with education or training preparing the individual for the occupational area being taught required and a minimum of five years (10,000 hours) recent related occupational experience as Maintenance Mechanic, Electro-Mechanical Technician, or other maintenance related field OR Associate Degree in Electro-Mechanical with 5 years (10,000 hours) recent related occupational experience.  If no Bachelor degree or Journeyworker card, individual hired will be required to enroll in an accredited bachelor degree program in a related discipline and to complete the degree within 5 years of employment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical and mechanical systems as well as robotics and automation. 
  • Ability to work non-standard hours including mornings, evening, and weekend hours, if needed.
  • FANUC Robotic Programming Certification (CERT) beneficial.
  • Valid license to operate a forklift is preferred.

Other Skill and Abilities:

  •  Comprehensive understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  •  Two years teaching or training experience beneficial.
  •  Maintenance Mechanic/Maintenance Technician Journey-Worker status beneficial.
  • Experience with computer assisted instruction and software.
  • Working knowledge of PC software in a Windows environment.
  • Experience desired in delivering instruction by alternative methods such as instructional television or online.
  •  Possess excellent classroom delivery skills, which encourage success and participation on the part of students.
  • Must be innovative and able to collaborate with other staff for developing curriculum, including lecture and lab activities, for classroom and lab instruction.
  • Must be well motivated and have a strong interest in contributing to the success of the College.
  • Positive human relations and effective written and oral communication skills essential.
  • Exemplify college values in all staff and student interactions as well as services delivered.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and relate successfully with staff, students, and citizens of diverse cultural, social or educational backgrounds.
  • Fluent, bilingual individual is beneficial

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and work with explosives.  The employee is regularly exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. 

 All proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is used.
