INTERPRETER FOR THE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING
- Must be certified as a PK-12 Interpreter with a Wisconsin DPI Educational Interpreter license.
- Must be willing to learn the C-Print® System.
This position will involve 7.25 hours per day during the school year. The starting rate for this position is $20.20 per hour.
Interpret and/or transliterate (including both sign language and oral interpreting) classroom instruction for D/HH students, including meetings with teachers, educational assistants, guidance counselors, and various school personnel as needed. Utilize the C-Print® System (in the future with older students) and support the staff using the system. Provide additional tutoring to D/HH students as follow-up to classroom information when needed. Consult with teacher of the D/HH regarding students’ progress and needs. Interpret for students on field trips, assemblies, and various school activities. Maintain professional standards as delineated in the Code of Ethics of the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. Provide related classroom assistance as needed. Must provide own vehicle and be able to travel between multiple buildings as needed. Other duties as assigned.
