Purpose and Summary
Vaccination is an evidence based public health practice designed to provide protection against the spread of communicable disease. Position will be expected to perform various roles within vaccination clinics including registration, data entry and provision of vaccines. Additional responsibilities may include returning phone calls, answering questions and assisting in vaccine scheduling.
Assist with clinic set up and take down. Facilitate/perform the gathering of patient information and document accordingly. Greet patients and prepare them for vaccination. Administer and document immunizations. Monitor patient after immunization given. Provide patient education based on current clinic documents and information. Perform pandemic related work as required.
Licensure or Certification as a RN, CMA, RMA, LPN. A clear understanding of patient confidentiality, including the ability to conduct interviews without violating confidentiality. Excellent and sensitive interpersonal, cultural sensitivity, and interviewing skills such that they can build and maintain trust with patients and contacts. Flexibility to changing needs and environments is a must. Bilingual skillset is preferred.
Work is in a clinic or mass clinic setting which could include a gym or community space. A combination of sitting and standing postures may be required. Ability to regularly work up to 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. Vaccine clinics will occur during the weekend. Flexing hours to meet the needs for scheduled clinics will be required. Must be able to effectively operate standard office equipment including telephone, computer, calculator, printer, and photocopier.
