What's in the job...

The Maintenance Lead’s primary responsibility is work execution of all scheduled maintenance activities with emphasis on electrical assignments at the site. Accountable to the Maintenance Manager for the efficient and effective use of all maintenance resources and materials, while under direct supervision. Charged with the development of the trades assigned to ensure the site has a well-trained, effective, and efficient maintenance workforce. Provides support and technical guidance to department for proper job execution

  • In the absence of the Maintenance Manager, supervise staff to include but not limited to designating work assignments, providing instruction, reviewing completed work and providing input for performance appraisals
  • Ensure continuous and efficient operations of electrical and mechanical systems for the facility, equipment and machines.
  • Troubleshooting PLC's, robotics, hydraulics, and maintenance problems.
  • Diagnose problems, replace and or repair parts, detect and replace defective control modules, test and execute adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial plastic roto molding equipment, and their controls and systems.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair automated and semi-automated manufacturing machinery to ensure product on readiness.
  • Performs electrical repairs and improvements to buildings, grounds, machines and equipment that conform to applicable electrical codes.
  • Provide support for capital project installations and startups relating to new plant equipment and applicable buildings/ground projects.
  • Provide leadership for the Maintenance team in the areas of safety, process reliability, administering plant policies, housekeeping, waste control, productivity improvement, cost effectiveness, and people.
  • Promote continuous improvement and reliable methods within the organization
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Report to Plant Manager any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known, while providing technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities.
  • Contact and work with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results.
  • Maintains adequate inventories of spare parts and Purchase materials, parts, and supplies as required.
  • Administrate a cost-effective Preventative Maintenance Program for both manufacturing equipment and facility, incorporating elements of Continuous Improvement to improve the overall effectiveness and reduce costs.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintain compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Works in conjunction with EHS to ensure that environmental compliance activities and requirements are met.
What you bring to the job...
  • Two-year technical degree preferred, or 5+ years of progressive maintenance experience in an industrial setting with a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Journeyman Electrician, WI License desired or ability to attain.
  • Requires knowledge of industrial electrical systems and equipment along with mechanical abilities.
  • Leadership experience/aptitude, ability to mentor and develop training plans for other service technicians.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendors.
  • Must be a self-starter and customer centric.
  • Can troubleshoot, repair, and program PLC’s and variable frequency drives.
  • Knowledge of switch gears, transformers, and power distribution
  • Knowledge of the principles of electricity, PLC controls, mechanics, and hydraulics.
  • Can operate and repair oven and furnaces roto molding equipment.
  • Educational courses and/or work experience with heating, plumbing and electrical system.
