Create, implement and maintain the Master Production Schedule in a manner that focuses on exceeding the expectations of our valued customers yet balances demand with capacity and cost.

  • Maintain the Master Production Schedule in a manner that supports the strategies, objectives and goals of the organization while balancing capacity and cost.
  • Responsible for the creation of work orders to cover requirements for goods made and Wigwam.
  • Create and maintain released work orders by machine for knitting to execute on a weekly basis.
    • Maintain a rolling detail schedule for knitting of the styles/machine numbers for each line.
  • Develops and maintains a detailed rolling production plan by releasing standard and non-standard (rework) time phased work orders.
  • Create future confirmed orders in the system with best possible start dates to get the orders knit in timely manner but keeping in mind maintain reasonable inventory levels, cost and capacity.
  • Schedule and release samples including setup of new styles would include updating Style Detail with information such as batch size, planner, etc.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Primary point of contact for providing information, reports, analysis, insight and follow up as related to the execution of the Master Production Schedule.
    • Seeks information from and provides support to the Customer Service Department, Forecast Analyst, Knitting and Finishing Department Managers
    • Monitors, investigates and expedites on a daily basis the status of work orders to ensure that the organization is meeting internal objectives and customer commitments.
    • Review and update Shortage Report daily with comments and accurate dates.
    • Monitor IR’s and Scrap daily to make sure production requirement are met.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with all internal customers.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel).
  • Understanding of production planning and control processes and the impact these processes have on the entire organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail is required.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within prescribed deadlines, routines and standard accepted practices.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate Degree from an accredited institution or 3+ years of experience in a production planning and control function within a manufacturing or service industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly on the telephone, in person or electronically.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand; talk or hear and use hands to handle or touch objects or controls.
  • Normal office environment with some exposure to the factory.
  • Must work within the written safety policies and guidelines of the organization.
