Monday rotating: 2:30-4 PM staff meetings

Monday: 4-10 PM Bridgeway

Tuesday: 3:45-7:45 PM Supervised Visitation Program (SVP)

Thursday rotating: 3:45-7:45 PM Supervised Visitation Program (SVP)

Friday: 4-10 PM Bridgeway

Weekends: 9-3 or 3-10 PM Bridgeway – every other, or one day each weekend

*SVP shifts vary in length

*Ability to pick up shifts as needed in Bridgeway and Supervised Visitation Program

Hourly Employment: $10-12

Reports to: Bridgeway Program Manager

Position Summary

Bridgeway is a residential transitional living program for homeless women with children. Program Assistants primary responsibility is to take a strength based, grace filled approach to house coverage, crisis intervention, and oversight of daily operations. Applicants need to have strong assertive communication skills and be self-motivated.

Supervised Visitation Program Assistants supervise and document visits between a visiting parent and child(ren), adhere to confidentiality, follows program protocol and ensures the safety of all participants.

Major Duties and Responsibilities-Bridgeway Program Assistant

  • Utilize a Trauma Informed approach to daily work. Provide compassion, grace and accountability
  • Build strong client/staff relationships with residents, while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Maintain the day to day operations of the program. This includes general cleaning and organization, modeling of positive behaviors, assertive communication, self-motivation, consistency and parental discipline, group facilitation and documentation
  • Indirect supervisor of interns and volunteers
  • Hand out prescription and over the counter medications to clients according to policy
  • Clean, sanitize, and prepare newly vacated bedrooms to be ready for new client arrivals
  • Follow opening and closing procedures
  • On-call hours; 10pm-9am Friday-Sunday one weekend a month
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor

Major Duties and Responsibilities-Supervised Visitation Program Assistant

  • Provides non-judgmental and bi-partisan supervision and documentation during parent child visits (1.5 hours each visit)
  • Maintain client files
  • Adheres to confidentiality
  • Assist in reports and data entry
  • Maintains the visitation space through general cleaning and upkeep
  • Effectively communicates with third parties including lawyers, social workers, judges
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to establish rapport
  • Ability to work independently with strong sense of focus, task-oriented, non-judgmental, open personal qualities, and clear sense of boundaries
  • Works as the member of a team
  • A strong sense of and respect for confidentiality involving both clients and fellow employees
  • Ability to work in a variety of settings with culturally-diverse families and communities with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate
  • Ability to be a self-starter and finish tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of times in the Supervised Visitation Program

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required. 2-3 years of related work, post-secondary education in psychology, social work or similar is preferred
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle. Ability to transport residents in personal vehicle or SCIO’s van when necessary
  • Proficient in documentation and a working understanding of HIPPA and confidentiality
  • Rotating holiday shifts required
  • Background check and drug test required

Minimum Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and/or use force up to 50 pounds occasionally, to lift, push, or pull, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people
  • Good depth perception and field of vision required
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, lift, carry, pull, climb, and kneel, with approximately 50% of the time spent walking and standing
  • Ability to recognize differences in sound, such as voices/noises that are loud and playful instead of angry and combative, and the ability to differentiate tone and volumes in conversations

Supervised Visitation & Exchange Program provides visitation and exchange services between custodial and non-custodial (or without placement) parents. Staff help to ensure a safe and secure setting free from parents’ violence and conflict.
