  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Prior experience as a cook, which also includes prep work and bulk cooking preferred.
  3. General computer knowledge.
  4. Ability to work as a team member.
  5. Demonstration of being reliable and dependable based on attendance.
  6. Ability to replenish supplies as needed.
  7. Knowledge of operating convection oven.
  8. Demonstrate proficient communication skills.
  9. Knowledge of operating a cash register.
  10. The ability to maintain inventory and perform bookwork.
  11. Ability to cashier using Point of Service (POS) software.
  12. Ability to lift 40 pounds, unassisted.
  13. Ability to travel to multiple locations, as needed.
  14. Ability to work extended hours, as needed.
This position is 8.0 hours per day (6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) for approximately 185 days per year. The starting rate for this position is $14.25 - $15.63 per hour.
Prepare, cook, and serve breakfast and lunch. Run POS station during meal service and count and record money accurately. Learn and have a strong understanding of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program guidelines. Estimate the amount of food needed for orders and work with the lead on this. Use good judgment in heating lunches, bringing food to the required temperature to kill bacteria, adjust the oven temperature and heating time in accordance with what is being heated. Keep accurate milk records. Fill out paperwork in a timely manner. Do daily, end-of-year, and another periodical clean-up and sanitization to all equipment and storage units. Report all malfunctioning equipment. Perform other duties related to work as directed by the Lead Cook, Nutrition Supervisor, or the Coordinator of School Nutrition.
