Job Description
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Food service experience or training.
  3. General computer knowledge.
  4. Ability to work as a team member.
  5. Demonstration of being reliable and dependable based on attendance.
  6. Ability to replenish supplies as needed.
  7. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  8. Knowledge of operating convection oven.
  9. Ability to travel between multiple buildings.
The hours range from 3.0 to 6.0 hours per day in various schools. This is a substitute position that could lead to a full-time position for the right candidate. You will be trained to work at various sites. Hours may vary, but will generally be between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. You can choose the days you are able to work. You may secure additional hours as you are trained and if you are able to fill in for breakfast. The starting rate of pay for the position is $12.80 an hour.
Type of Meal Service:
Our students serve themselves off of a salad bar that you refill and record the amount of food being utilized. Our students are then served a hot entrée at elementary schools that is placed on a pan, heated, and then served by the team of two in the school. At our secondary locations students have four hot entrees and they select and serve themselves the item they want.
We will train you on the meal patterns, production records, food safety plan, etc. This position will be trained to work in our school meal programs. Training is paid and is in several formats: online and onsite training. Once training is completed you will be ready to fill in to work during a team member’s absence. Our schools have at least one other worker that is working with you. We maintain a high standard of sanitation and follow our own food safety plan that you will have access to and will have time to review. Perform other duties related to work as directed by the School Nutrition Coordinator.
