Events like this bring exciting, world-class sports to Sheboygan and provide a platform for our local businesses, artisans, and hospitality industry to shine on a global stage. This year’s success highlights the growing appeal of Sheboygan as a premier destination for tourists and sports enthusiasts. We're excited to build on this momentum and welcome even more visitors to experience everything that makes Sheboygan special." Powerboat P1 CEO Azam Rangoonwala shared, “It was no surprise that Sheboygan was recognized last year as the APBA best race site for hosting the inaugural Midwest Challenge in 2022, and this year’s event confirmed the city’s position as one the leading venues on the race calendar. It stands out due to its beautiful water, lodging options, outdoor recreational space, and a local government group that has embraced the sport of offshore racing. We know the city loves showcasing its waterfront and number one natural resource, Lake Michigan, and Mayor Ryan Sorenson’s energy and leadership have helped our relationship with Sheboygan continue to grow. We are delighted to have a Wisconsin venue on our schedule, less than an hour from Mercury Racing’s corporate headquarters.” Visit Sheboygan, Mercury Racing, and the Sheboygan County Chamber were community partners joining the City of Sheboygan. Next year’s 3rd Annual Sheboygan Midwest Challenge will again occur along Lake Michigan's shore as one of several races in next year’s P1 Offshore series, with dates to be announced soon.
