About Us

The mission of the Sheboygan County Warming Center (SCWC), a privately funded organization, is to provide a safe, warm, low barrier facility for any single adults that find themselves without safe overnight shelter. SCWC also provides and partners with community resources that support permanent housing and self-sufficiency.



The Sheboygan County Warming Center, a beacon of warmth and safety, was conceived by community member Ken Rishel, who recognized the urgent need in Sheboygan County. Inspired by the existence of warming centers in other locales and driven by a deep belief that no one should be left in the cold, Rishel took action.



Collaborating with like-minded individuals from his church, the community, and Daryl Mangeri from the Salvation Army, Rishel's vision came to life in 2
