This course is for individuals who have a non-accounting background and wish to learn the principles of double-entry bookkeeping. Topics include recording day-by-day business and financial transactions, as well as the basics of financial statements, general ledger, cash controls, and adjusting and closing entries. The lessons taught in this traditional bookkeeping class will also be helpful to those planning to learn a computer bookkeeping program in the future, since these same principles operate "behind the scenes" in computer bookkeeping programs, such as "QuickBooks".
