A Driving Lesson with Expert Joe Yoder The grip of driving reins, the creak of carriage wheels, the sight of picturesque hills and trees rolling by—have you ever wondered what it feels like to drive a carriage? In this entertaining and educational hands-on clinic, participants, along with their equine partners and horse-drawn vehicles, will learn carriage driving skills by expert trainer Joe Yoder, a passionate driver who first made a name for himself driving a four-in-hand in 2010. Since then, Yoder has driven for several high-profile individuals, including serving as the Whip for the Kohler four-in-hand owned by Herbert V. Kohler, Jr., where he achieved World Champion Carriage Driving status. During the 45-minute lesson, Yoder will impart lessons on your topic of choice, such as harnessing, rein and whip handling, or training a green horse. Yoder will strive to push each driver and equine to be their best with impactful insight from a lifetime of experience, a wealth of knowledge gained through industry leaders from around the world, and an intense passion for the sport. Clinic participants will also be able to tour the Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum. Attendees must be 13+ to participate.
