About Us

Situated among the trees on a high bluff overlooking the winding Sheboygan River, The Waelderhaus (''a house in the woods,'') stands as a tribute to the tradition of Bregenzerwald (''forest of Bregenz'') Province of Vorarlberg, Austria, the ancestral homeland of the Kohler family.

The Waelderhaus is managed by Kohler Foundation, Inc. It is open daily (except holidays) to the public for guided tours, free of charge. From time to time, the Kohler Foundation hosts special musical performances at the Waelderhaus. During the month of December, visit the Waelderhaus to experience a magical Gingerbread Village and free seasonal music by local choirs, bands and and musicians.

For information or to arrange a group tour, please contact Waelderhaus at: (920) 453-2851 or (920) 458-1972.
