Deeply rooted in Alpine regions history and culture, the flax plant was used in many ways, including to make cloth. From ancient civilizations to contemporary “slow fashion,” flax has woven itself into the fabric of human history for its sustainability and durability. This lecture will share the processes and history behind this fussy fiber that was a major part of pre-industrial life.
