"Fight Like A Girl: Playing To Win" In life, no one likes to lose, but not losing isn’t the same thing as winning. In this session, we will explore five bold steps required to compete and win in work and in the world, while building and enhancing a positive personal brand. Tchernavia Rocker is currently the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Harley-Davidson, Inc. In this position, she oversees leadership development, benefits and compensation, labor relations, global diversity inclusion and a staff of approximately 200 human resources employees throughout the world. Over the last sixteen years, Tchernavia has served Harley-Davidson in various HR Leadership roles responsible for leading business unit HR functions which includes strategic HR planning, HRIS, employee relations, labor relations, talent management, training, organizational development, change management, performance management, diversity, safety, security and occupational health. Her previous experience also includes various HR and operations leadership roles within Goodyear Dunlop North America Tire Inc., as well as experience in healthcare and scientific research with various other organizations. She has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of several non-profits such as the Urban Economic Development Association, Progressive Community Health Centers, the Crispus Attucks Center and the South George Street Community Partnership. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Next Door and Mount Mary University both in Milwaukee, WI. She also is active in professional and other non-profit organizations. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the National Black MBA Association. Tchernavia has been honored by various organizations and media outlets for her outstanding professional contributions and community involvement, such as Ebony Magazine and Milwaukee Forty under 40 and most recently as a 2016 STEP Ahead Award Recipient. Tchernavia is a graduate of the University of Alabama Huntsville in Huntsville, AL, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She earned her Master of Business Administration from Alabama A&M University. She currently holds her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification and SHRM-Senior Certified Professional certification.
