The October 12 concert features the world premiere of The Healing Machine, inspired by treasured art installations at John Michael Kohler Arts Center and the Art Preserve. Illinois composer Jacob Bancks, whose work has been featured on previous SSO programs, wrote the piece earlier this year as a commissioned work for the SSO. Also on the October concert is Beethoven’s Pastorale Symphony, which evokes a joyful stroll through the countryside.
