Polyfab LLC is seeking an experienced Accountant who will support the Financial Controller in the daily financial activities for the company. This role will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP standards, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and supporting the monthly close process.
Key Responsibilities
- Review accounts payable invoices focusing on proper account classification, sales tax liability, and approvals prior to posting to ledger.
- Review weekly cash disbursements for payment approval ensuring timely & accurate payments.
- Accounts receivable cash applications & weekly review of customer account status for potential collections.
- Review of daily bank account activity ensuring adequate cash flow.
- Review & post daily inventory transactions to general ledger.
- Provide weekly reports on a timely basis to the corporate office.
- Assist with monthly / yearly close process ensuring timely & accurate reporting of financial statements.
- Reconciliation of perpetual inventory to general ledger.
- Assist in the quarterly review of inventory obsolescence working with other departments to determine potential reserve.
- Prepare & post journal entries to ledger including payroll related accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Maintain fixed asset & depreciation schedules ensuring reconciliation to general ledger.
- Complete balance sheet & statement of income account reconciliations monthly.
- Assist with monthly / yearly cost accounting updates to standards for material, labor, & overhead.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Provide and support documentation for internal & external audit requests.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external accounting standards and polices.
- Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Other accounting duties, tasks, and project work as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- 5 years accounting related experience in manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills while interacting with internal and external sources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and integrated ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve financial issues.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
