FOOD SAFETY / QUALITY SYSTEMS SUPERVISOR
Plymouth, Wisconsin (On-site)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive food safety and quality training to new employees while actively maintaining, enhancing, and monitoring the food safety and quality culture at Masters Gallery Foods. This individual will work cross-functionally with all departments to drive compliance and continuous improvement. Additionally, they will lead the complaint management process, oversee customer and regulatory audits, and manage RedZone initiatives to ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and instruct the new hire training program including updating training for new and existing employees and assist in leading the quality culture at Masters Gallery Foods.
- Lead the team and assist with customer, regulatory, and third-party audits and assessments.
- Complete regular Preventative Control Qualified Individual (PQCI) sign offs.
- Lead the team and provide back-up for managing the Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) Programs for quality and food safety improvements.
- Lead the team and provide back-up for complaint processing including logging in SpecRight. Coordinate internal investigations and respond accordingly to the customer with a response and corrective action.
- Audit the facility and employees for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), job practice, and food safety issues. Review internal audits and monitor trends.
- Lead quality projects and provide support as assigned.
- Assist in the review and oversight of the Food Safety and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Plans.
- Coordinate and monitor the Food Safety and Quality Audit programs.
- Lead internal Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Auditing Program and coordinate training opportunities with the Training Department.
- Assist with managing quality-related Management of Change (MOC) Projects.
- Assist with traceability initiatives, improvement database, and testing.
- Develop and/or maintain programs and practices for known food safety risk items such as: environmental monitoring, roof leaks, drain backups, traffic flow, allergens, and other similar areas.
- Assist with facility inspections as needed.
- Work with the Maintenance and Engineering Department to ensure that special projects and preventative maintenance tasks do not create food safety issues and that we are controlling risks.
- Assist the Quality Team with food safety and quality improvement initiatives.
- Backup to RedZone administration for changes, improvement, and other changes as needed.
- Work with other departments to improve sanitary design, sanitation gaps, quality concerns, food safety improvements, and other improvements by being an active presence and advocate on the plant floor.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President - Food Safety & Quality, Director of Quality Systems and/or Quality Managers.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Food Safety or a quality-related field preferred. Certifications in HACCP, PCQI, and an accredited Auditor Certification are preferred.
- 3-5 years of working experience in food safety, quality, documentation, or food operations is preferred. Previous audit experience within the food industry is a plus.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments to gain input/feedback.
- Efficient in computer and iPad applications to build procedures, forms, reports, etc.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and in manufacturing areas.
- Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and WDA food safety regulations and inspection protocol as needed.
- Knowledge of BRC or equivalent Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) scheme.
