News Release: 4/25/2026 -- REBUILDING TOGETHER SHEBOYGAN COUNTY EXPANDS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Sheboygan, Wisconsin – Rebuilding Together Sheboygan County (RTSC) ?is experiencing a post-pandemic resurgence with board expansion and generous support from area businesses, organizations and caring individuals. New board members will help the all-volunteer nonprofit build on a successful 2025. RTSC has been repairing homes in Sheboygan County since 1998. Thanks to its valued sponsors, tradespeople and volunteers, RTSC completed repairs to 26 County homes last year, up from six in 2022, eleven in 2023 and 20 in 2024.
Chris Jennings joins the Board as Fundraising Coordinator. He will focus on growing community connections and securing sponsorships and volunteers to support the nonprofit’s work. Jennings, who retired in 2021, is also an active volunteer with Sheboygan’s Salvation Army food bank and Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. “I am excited to be joining the Board of Rebuilding Together Sheboygan County to support the mission of ensuring everyone in the community has a safe home. Rebuilding Together has supported members of the community for many years, and I look forward to helping expand on this tradition to serve more people in need.”
Brian Zillmer joins the Board as a Director. He will focus on expanding social media to support volunteer recruitment, fundraising efforts, and community outreach initiatives. He plans to introduce drone usage to support home inspections, helping improve safety and efficiency in evaluating repair needs. Brian is a Program Manager with BW Papersystems and a lifelong resident of Sheboygan County. “I joined Rebuilding Together Sheboygan County to use my skills to make a positive impact in our community. There are residents who could use a little help, and we are here to provide that support. A strong community relies on neighbors helping neighbors, and I’m proud to be part of an organization that makes Sheboygan County a better place for all.”
RTSC regularly receives applications from homeowners who live in conditions many could not imagine, and who often face challenges that prevent them from being able to tackle them alone. Repairs are completed year-round on a project basis depending on available funding, volunteers and weather conditions. This approach allows efficient use of limited resources and offers an opportunity to best understand each homeowner’s needs so services can be tailored accordingly. Repairs are completed by volunteers who are supported by skilled tradespeople and project managers to mitigate the side effects of unsafe housing -- sickness, injury, isolation, and hopelessness.
“We are dedicated to serving as many neighbors in need as possible every year,” states Bob Wells, Board President. “We’re excited to have Chris and Brian join our Board and support our goal of helping more homeowners in need in 2026 than we could last year.” Learn more about RTSC’s work and volunteering by visiting rtsheboygan.org, where you may also make a tax-deductible donation. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization seeks sponsors and volunteers to support its vital work in Sheboygan County.
