Sheboygan Businesswoman Takes Message to the Airwaves with New Television Campaign

She’s back on camera and this time is bringing a big gift basket and more!

SHEBOYGAN, WI — July 11, 2025 — The GameBoard, the innovative game store in Sheboygan, WI, that’s changing the way you think about playing games, is thrilled to announce its upcoming collaboration with WFRV-TV for a special contest giveaway and promotional campaign. This exciting initiative will put Lynn Potyen, owner of The GameBoard, back on the air and include a live event, commercial airing, and a chance for local residents to win a variety of prizes.

As part of the campaign, a commercial will air on cable TV, targeting the corridor to Chicago, highlighting The GameBoard’s mission to bring fun, education, and brain-boosting gameplay to the community. The Live at 5 event will take place at Blue Harbor on July 25, where attendees can engage in the festivities and get free prizes.

The centerpiece of the campaign is a gift bundle contest valued at over $100, which will be available through a TV and website promotion, complete with a QR code for easy entry. One lucky winner will receive the gift bundle, which includes an assortment of top-rated board games and more. Additionally, a $25 gift card will be given away in person during the live event, allowing attendees to experience the store’s wide selection of games firsthand.

Attendees of the live event will also receive branded thank-you gifts, including SheBoardGames post-it packs and bracelets, designed to keep the spirit of gaming alive long after the event. These items feature a unique Wisconsin outline with the SheBoardGames logo, a fun keepsake for attendees.

“We’re excited to partner with WFRV-TV again this year to demonstrate the power of games in building stronger communities,” Potyen said. “This collaboration allows us to showcase how The GameBoard is more than just a game store—it’s a hub where people connect, learn, and have fun together. The community support we received from last year’s campaign was incredible, and we’re thrilled to expand on that this year.”

About The GameBoard

The GameBoard was founded in 2006 by Lynn Potyen, an award-winning proprietor after her son was diagnosed with a severe speech delay, through his journey she was able to connect his therapy to the games they played at home. Since then, studies have shown that playing games together enhances creativity, fosters communication and socialization, and builds emotional skills and cognitive learning ability. Potyen is an outspoken advocate for using board games in education, therapy, and corporate team building. Her story is archived in the Library of Congress and in the 2023 book “What Board Games Mean to Me,” where she is part of an anthology featuring 28 voices from around the world.
