STC’s Studio Players to Stage “110 Stories”

The show brings to life the stories of first responders and survivors of 9/11.

SHEBOYGAN, WI--October XX, 2024--The Sheboygan Theatre Company, the local community theater celebrating its 91st Season, announced today that its Studio Players group will present "110 Stories," written by Sarah Tuft. The show, directed by Randy Stache, will run from April 24 through 27 at The John Michael Kohler Arts Center, 608 New York Ave in Sheboygan.

"This show represents what theater does best – giving voice to human experiences that might otherwise remain untold," said Tricia Roberts, Executive Director of STC. "The production invites our audience to reconnect with the profound humanity behind a national tragedy through intimate, personal testimonies. We're honored to present this important work that reminds us of both our vulnerability and our remarkable capacity for compassion and resilience in the face of unimaginable circumstances."

From the first crash at the Towers to a last goodbye at Ground Zero, “110 Stories” is a moment-by-moment journey through 9/11 as told by eyewitnesses, survivors, and recovery workers. These “everyday people” include a photojournalist, a mother, an ironworker, a nurse, a massage therapist, and a homeless man who all saved lives that day. “110 Stories” memorializes September 11th without politics or hyperbole. Instead, it restores the human side of history by honoring our capacity for compassion.

“I think it’s very important to retell this piece of history with the historical weight it deserves. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing on that day and watched as everything unfolded on TV, as it happened," Stache said. “That day changed History! Not just for the United States of America, but for the entire world. How the war on terrorism unfolded is still reverberating throughout the world even today. I look forward to you enjoying the show with Fervent Remembrance."

Randy’s connection with STC dates back to his debut in their 1996 production of Done to Death. This marks Randy’s second time directing for the Studio Players, following his successful work on the 2018 production of Hand to God. Beyond directing, Randy serves on STC’s Advisory Committee and chairs its Volunteerism Committee. A retired Facilities Superintendent from the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Randy thanks his wife Debra for her unwavering support throughout their 26 years together.
