STC Announces Auditions for Mamma Mia!

Community performers invited to audition for beloved ABBA-filled musical.

SHEBOYGAN, WI—February 10, 2026—The Sheboygan Theatre Company, the local community theater celebrating its 92nd Season, announced that auditions are now open for Mamma Mia!, the iconic musical featuring the music of ABBA. Directed by Zac Stearn and Music Directed by Eva Stokes, this high-energy, ensemble-driven production will take the STC stage in May 2026.

Set on a sun-soaked Greek island, Mamma Mia! tells the story of Sophie, a young woman determined to discover the identity of her father before her wedding. With the help of her mother Donna’s past and a soundtrack packed with some of the most recognizable pop hits of all time, the show blends heart, humor, romance, and nonstop dance numbers into a joyful celebration of love and family.

Auditions will be held Monday, March 17, and Tuesday, March 18, at 6:00 p.m., with callbacks scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, at 6:00 p.m. Auditions will take place at the Sheboygan Theatre Company business offices located at 3330 Stahl Road, Sheboygan, WI 53081. Auditions are by appointment, and performers are asked to sign up for a specific time slot in advance.

“This show thrives on energy, connection, and fearless performance,” said Director Zac Stearn. “Mamma Mia! asks performers to fully commit to the joy, the movement, and the larger-than-life storytelling. We’re looking for a cast that isn’t afraid to engage the audience and lean into the fun.”

Auditions are open to performers entering third grade and up. Participants should prepare approximately one minute of a pop-style song that showcases their voice and personality. Musical theatre selections are encouraged, though radio hits are also welcome. Auditions will be conducted in small groups and will include a dance call, so performers should wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear for movement.

Rehearsals will begin March 23, 2026, and typically take place Monday through Friday evenings. Performances are scheduled for May 8–10 and May 14–16, 2026, at the Leslie W. Johnson Theatre inside Horace Mann Middle School. All cast members must be available for the full rehearsal and performance schedule.
