UW-Green Bay Offering Applied AI Workshop Series Starting in September

UW-Green Bay’s new Applied AI Noncredit Certificate Program, running online from September 23rd to November 20th, has been designed for business professionals and leaders to supersize brain power by leveraging AI. Learning how and when to best use AI will increase efficiency, boost profitability and deliver more business value, the university announced in a press release Thursday.

According to the release, research shows that AI adoption is positively correlated with superior business outcomes in revenue, cost, and profitability—and this finding holds true across all industries. Notably, industries that are data-intense like banking and insurance will find particular value in adopting AI. But AI is also emerging as a key difference-maker in other areas of business and will benefit leaders and professionals with responsibilities in e-commerce, marketing and social media, healthcare, security, transportation and customer relations.
This certificate encompasses three focused modules that are 100% online and a panel discussion with the three instructors discussing how to implement AI into the professional workplace. The modules include:

  • Foundations of AI – Explore the evolution of artificial intelligence (AI)—from its history to current breakthroughs. You will experiment with various AI tools, including chatbots and art generators, while learning effective prompting techniques.
  • AI Applications in Business – Enhance your productivity by learning how to incorporate AI into your work. Explore how AI can be leveraged in business settings, uncovering practical applications that enhance decision-making and streamline operations.
  • Ethical & Social Impact – Use popular culture to identify the long-running ethical concerns surrounding AI, and articulate a nuanced vision of the promises and perils of AI in your personal, professional, and social lives.
  • AI Implementation – Join the instructors to learn more about how to utilize AI in your personal and professional lives. Bring your questions!
Upon successful completion of sessions, participants can earn a UW-Green Bay Applied AI digital badge. Registration is now open. To learn more about the certificate program, visit the website or contact Christopher Ledvina, at 920-465-2164 or ledvinch@uwgb.edu.  The Applied AI Certificate is sponsored by the Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Training, dedicated to upskilling, reskilling and new skilling.
