We are seeking a dynamic Virtual medical Assistant to join our team.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Medical Receptionist / Assistant to join our team. As the VMA, you will play a critical role in managing Patient calls of our client’s healthcare facility. Your primary responsibility will be to triage Omni-Channel (email, SMS message, online chat, phone calls) communications, determine where the information should be forwarded to and to log the information correctly. This is a remote full-time position that requires a detail orientated, positive and empathetic communicator, patient person with outstanding listening skills, and with the ability to multi-task efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

1. Ability to take ownership of each piece of communication presented to assure it is resolved to complete satisfaction of the patient and medical staff.

2. Accurately triage each call / appointment request to determine if you can respond to it, request refill authorizations form providers, review lab results as required and answer patient questions, schedule a requested or required service or; if it needs to be shared with others and then send it to the appropriate member of that patient’s care team.

3. Easily retrieve, capture, and maintain information in a “real-time” manner within the environment of the healthcare database.

4. Maintain complete follow-up documentation on all communications and tasks to ensure that it continues to focus on providing every detail of patient care.

5. Follow up with patients through the mode of communication preferred by each patient.

6. Create new customer files capturing all aspects of the patient’s previous and current health data, doctor care, insurance, and general demographics.

7. Seek and consider feedback from patients, providers, and leadership to provide and maintain a high level of care.

8. Exercise critical thinking to quickly prioritize and reprioritize tasks.

9. Collaborate with On-site staff and medical Providers in a way that supports and focuses as a team for the patient.

10. Present exceptional English communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with the patient and all internal partners.

11. Compliance with all HIPPA regulations at all times when pertaining to confidential health information.

Qualifications:

1. Experience in the healthcare field as an MA of over 3 years required. Experience with Urgent Care, Nephrology, Primary Care, Vein Care and Managed Weight Loss preferred. Strong working knowledge of proper medical terminology and anatomy.

2. Overall computer skills and a strong background in the use of Tebra / Kareo EHR, or other similar Electronic Healthcare Management software.

3. Experience in all methods of communication, such as chats, SMS, phone, email, etc. as they are heavily used.

4. Strong working knowledge of all healthcare compliance regulations, such as HIPAA, and then the ability to adhere to these regulations.

5. Sharp attention to details in all verbal and written communications.

6. Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills, Spanish is a plus.

7. Must pass background check.
