We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our dynamic team and ensure accurate coding of medical records and billing compliance.
Job Responsibilities:

• Review medical documentation and assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure accurate coding for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations as well as insurance policies.
• Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures for proper coding.
• Audit and verify coded medical records for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in resolving coding discrepancies and insurance claim denials.
• Stay updated with changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and industry trends.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of medical coding experience.
• Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare billing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
• Ability to discern, dissect and comprehend the need to pivot when reviewing provider notes for proper coding, upcoding or request for additional documentation.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software is required.
• Experience working in Tebra / Kareo a bonus
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
