Bookworm Gardens seeks a team-oriented, energetic, and enthusiastic Marketing Intern who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and who is well-suited to working collaboratively with a small staff. This internship prepares college students to enter the field of marketing and communications by providing hands-on experience in a non-profit, nature-based setting. The Marketing Intern reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and works closely with the events, education, and horticulture departments. The internship provides an opportunity to learn about enhancing a brand, content creation to engage audiences and meet goals, and maintaining creative assets, all while growing fundamental strategic and creative marketing skills, and providing support for a variety of projects organization wide. ? Develop and post social media content for Facebook and Instagram. ? Assist with creative marketing components for events including social media posts, flyers, press releases, radio commercials, email blasts, etc. ? Capture and share Bookworm Gardens’ experiences through photos and videos, especially in relation to content calendar and digital marketing goals. ? Represent Bookworm Gardens at events throughout the summer. ? Attend weekly planning meetings with staff members ? Assist with office/file organization, data-entering, proofreading, and office administrative duties.
Qualifications
? Currently obtaining or have completed a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field ? Must be 18 years of age and hold a valid WI driver’s license ? Strong verbal and written communication skills ? Interest in plants, gardens, and the natural world a plus ? Strong photography skills. videography, and video editing skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: The position requires the ability to stand, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, and lift and carry weight up to 50lbs. It also requires work in all outdoor weather conditions.
