Kohler, WI — Arts at the Waelderhaus is pleased to present an afternoon of exceptional music featuring Clara Montes on violin and Paolo González on piano on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the historic Waelderhaus.

This special concert celebrates the achievements of two outstanding young musicians whose work exemplifies the dedication fostered by the Ruth DeYoung Kohler Scholarship for Artistic Excellence. Audiences can expect a compelling performance that highlights both technical mastery and expressive depth, reflecting the scholarship’s longstanding commitment to supporting emerging artists.

Paolo González and Clara Montes have distinguished themselves through their musical insight, discipline, and creativity. Their appearance at Arts at the Waelderhaus offers concertgoers a unique opportunity to experience music in an intimate and acoustically rich setting.

Paolo González is a junior at Lawrence University, studying piano performance and psychology, with a minor in cognitive science. A 2024 graduate of Sheboygan North High School, he was awarded the Ruth DeYoung Kohler Scholarship for Artistic Excellence through Kohler Foundation. When asked about his upcoming performance at the Waelderhaus, he shared this: “I’m really looking forward to seeing how the music is impacted by the space. The hall looks incredible, and I’m eager to hear how the sound will fill it out. Throughout my life, music has always been a way to express myself. I hope that my performance moves listeners and makes them feel something that only music can communicate.”

Clara Montes has earned a degree in violin performance at Boston University with Dana Mazurkevich, having previously studied with Dan Ognavic and Jerome Franke. A Kohler High School graduate, Clara was the recipient of the Ruth DeYoung Kohler Scholarship for Artistic Excellence in 2019.
