Jake’s, A Lakeland Community, Becomes Filmmaker Central for Sheboygan Film Festival Lakeland’s LUCIE Center takes a leading role in the festival’s success. SHEBOYGAN, WI — September 17, 2025 — Organizers of the Sheboygan Film Festival (SFF) announced today that the Lakeland University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s (LUCIE’s) Jake’s, A Lakeland Community, facility will serve as the Central Hub for filmmakers and the main box office for the festival’s inaugural run, scheduled for October 2–5, 2025. During the week leading up to the event, the facility will host the committee’s production office. During the festival, it will also host several events. “When we think of a facility in Sheboygan that speaks to both creativity and getting things done, we think of Jake’s,” said Beah Travis, Founder and Executive Director of Belladonna Film Project and Chair of the SFF Committee. “Having LUCIE involved in the inaugural Sheboygan Film Festival is a huge win for our committee, and it will add so much to filmmakers and attendees who come to Sheboygan. We’re very proud to be working with the team at Jake’s.” Events scheduled to take place at Jake’s include a screening presented by Healthy Sheboygan County’s Positive Mental Health Action Team, a panel with Action! Wisconsin on the new state production incentives, the Saturday night afterparty, and the Sunday morning award ceremony. “We’re excited to be part of the festival for two reasons,” said Andrea Covey, Operations Manager for Jake’s. “First, our community thrives on the creative arts, and that innovative spirit is core to what we do. Second, filmmaking is an entrepreneurial endeavor, though people don’t always think of it that way. This event ties in well with LUCIE’s mission of helping entrepreneurs build themselves up and create new things.” For more information about the upcoming event, including sponsorship opportunities, submission requirements, or volunteer opportunities, visit the Sheboygan Film Festival website at www.sheboyganfilmfest.com.
