The Black Pig and Berkshire to Host Festival Events

Iconic Sheboygan venues to play vital role in city’s inaugural film festival.

SHEBOYGAN, WI — September 2, 2025 — Organizers of the Sheboygan Film Festival (SFF) announced today that the Black Pig and the Berkshire, both on 8th Street in Sheboygan, directly across from the Weill Center, will serve as an official venue for two special events during the festival’s inaugural run, scheduled for October 2–5, 2025.

“The Black Pig and the Berkshire are two wonderful examples of what Sheboygan has to offer,” said Beah Travis, Founder and Executive Director of Belladonna Film Project and Chair of the SFF Committee. “We’re very proud to share these venues with our visiting filmmakers and all who come to Sheboygan for the film festival.”

The Black Pig will host the filmmaker’s dinner on Thursday evening, and The Berkshire will host a very special Sips and Cinema, a film screening pairing wine and food on Friday night, featuring wines from the countries where the films were produced.

The Black Pig Chef and Owner Rob Hurrie, a Sheboygan County resident and business owner for more than two decades, opened the restaurant in 2013 to create a place where people could not only go out to eat but really experience the art of dining. Creating an atmosphere of true hospitality that the menu accommodates the foodie, the wine lover and families alike. The core belief of the restaurant is built upon is that everything is made in-house from scratch and yields the highest quality product possible.

“For Rob and his team, it's not just about the service or the food. It’s about hospitality! Anticipating their needs, customizing their requests, and making people feel at home,” said Nikki Rieck, a marketing consultant for Power Up who works with the venues. “The film festival is an opportunity to do something for the community that will showcase what we have to offer. It will be great for area visitors, but just as important it will offer some exciting events for our local customers.”

About The Black Pig & The Berkshire
Black Pig was founded by Rob Hurrie in March 2013. Rob’s idea was to create a place where people can not only go out to eat, but really experience the art of dining. He opened the banquet space, The Berkshire, in 2017. The 10,000 square-foot space features its own kitchen, exposed beams, and cream city brick. It is accessible by a separate entrance at the back of the building. It also features a main floor dining area and lofted space in the back.
